03 Jan It’s more than just fitness
Physical health IS important, but it’s not the MAIN thing within living a healthy + balanced lifestyle.
We tend to get so caught up on the physical aspect and miss out on the mental + spiritual part as well.
Without all 3 components working together.. you’ll lack in fully functioning in your BEST self.
There was a point in my life where I based the effectiveness of my workout on how long I spent at the gym, how many calories I was burning, or amount of sweat I was dripping.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I ended up hurting my knee and couldn’t workout the way I wanted to, for weeks. I panicked !!!
Thinking “healthy” was all about physical fitness.
Although, I was at my “prime” and in the best shape of my life, during that time. I was lacking in all the other areas that make up a healthy life = me being super unhealthy.
I have come along way since then and I’m proud that my sometimes obsessiveness has taken a backseat when it comes to my “physical” health.
It’s not about what your body looks like, how long you can run for, or how many hours you spend in the gym.
Health is far beyond your physical shape.
Make sure you’re checking in with yourself daily. To see where you fall in the lines of being ‘healthy.’
Are you living a balanced lifestyle?
relationships thriving? plate filled with foods like a rainbow (colored with veggies, fruits, protein, healthy fats ect) thoughts uplifting, leaving you feeling confident, whole, happy?
No matter where you are on your fitness journey, be thankful for the body God gave you, and its ability to move today, no matter what that looks like for you.
